Nestled in the tiny village of Arreton, central/east of the island, the Dairyman’s Daughter is a good place to eat and unwind and it’s one of our favorites!  Check out the dessert board, the homemade cheesecake is divine!. After your meal, visit Arreton Barns – there is plenty of free parking and you will find a collection of traditional craft workshops, art galleries, and a farm shop. You can stand and watch free glass making displays that run most days, and wander the unique shops that sell unique handmade crafts and locally produced goods.  For a bit of nostalgia – don’t forget to check out the old penny machines!   Arreton is great for families as there is so much to see and do in one place without having to pay an entry fee. The Shipwreck museum has an admission charge, but it is well worth a visit to learn about the fascinating sea faring past of the island.
